About

The State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) New Jersey State Rental Assistance Program is now closed. It was last from January 13, 2025 at 9:00AM, until January 31, 2025 at 5:00PM ET. It was last open before that in July 2022.

Important note: This is a state-funded rental assistance program for New Jersey residents managed by the DCA that operates similarly to the HUD Housing Choice Voucher program. According to the DCA, "Applicants must meet the income limits of the county where they are being subsidized and provide proof of residency."

To apply during the opening period, applicants completed the online application.

Disabled applicants who require reasonable accommodation to complete the application can call (609) 292-4080, Option 8, or (609) 633-6157.

The following documentation is required: Name, Social Security Number, birth date, and income information of all members of the household.

There are preferences for veterans, homeless persons, disabled persons, seniors and local residents.
